Cub McCallister is an American novelist, playwright, and actor. He is the founder and CEO of the independent publication house King of Mars Publications, and his novels are noted for featuring LGBTQ+ characters in prominent and protagonist roles

His early stage work includes writing and starring in the award-winning Children's Theatre pieces Merlyn & the Dragon and Therm & the Giants

Despite his success in theatre for the youths, Cub considers his crowning achievement in stage to be his one-man show Jack, in which the audience was treated to an evening with the infamous serial killer, Jack the Ripper, to hear his side of the story

In the world of cinema, he co-founded Films du Jour, LTD with Steve Halor, writing, producing, and starring in two minor productions, The Sensitive Artist and The Judas Factor

Cub reunited with Steve Halor several years later to co-write the graphic novel
The Killing Jar: Memoirs of a Cyborg

Cub lives in Oakland, California, with his husband, JP McCallister

They have been married since August 2002
